Two major influences brought me to this unfamiliar place where I join thousands and thousands of bloggers.
PIECE # 1 ~ God’s Pursuit
God has been pursuing me since I was born (as He is doing with you!) I did not notice or care to notice His patient persistence in my life for many years. He continued to seek me, whether I was willing—or not. He continues his courting. I now realize that I want Him to never stop. Fifteen years ago I began to journal reactions and prayers on my laptop in response to studying God’s Word. It was my way of answering God’s pursuit. I can’t stop and I don’t intend to stop. The more I discover the more I want to know.
PIECE # 2 ~ Time
New Time Nine years ago I let go of a lifetime job as an educator. I love teaching. It took 38 years of learning from my students and my colleagues to become knowledgeable about my craft. I lived and breathed being a teacher. I never once thought that I was wasting my time or that my work was something I no longer wanted to do. It was for me 24/7. I never felt like I was ‘done’ learning.
But…now I have all this time, with the continued need to express myself that came so often as an educator.
And the whisper of God began… “Tell others.“
I have heard the quiet, still voice of God before. He has always chosen very, very few words: “She will be OK.” , or “He’s on a journey to return to me.” , or “It’s Time!”
If I were to put the message He has wanted me to share into one simple statement it would be this: “Don’t sit on what you believe. ~ Act on what you believe. ” That’s why this blog is called…
Arise!
to Shine!
Reflect His Light! Get His work done!

What a great way to not only express yourself, worship the Lord AND share with others. I am honored to call you “Cuz”. Keep blogging and, above all, keep listening to the voice of our Lord! June 18, 2011 at 11:42 pm (15 years ago)Dear Cuz,
How wonderful for you to listen to the voice of God! I have seen you do that over and over and over with a longing to not just hear, but also to do. After all, what is the point of hearing God speak if we are not willing to do what the all-wise One says is the next best step for us!
Just like Moses, turning aside to see what the burning bush was all about, you have turned aside, willing to follow where God leads. And out of the bush, God speaks. May you notice many burning bushes as you walk this new (well….perhaps not wholely new….but different) path…..and may God speak often!
Beautiful site. Love your transparency and courage.
Love,
Dalene
